December 4, 2011 in Lutsk WOA center there was demonstrated a documentary “First of all we are people” devoted to people with disabilities. 20 persons were present, three Americans among them (Melissa Krut, Terry Mettison, Bernard Cheriff). There were also people with visual impairments. All were positively impressed by the film and everyone could express their opinions on the film after watching it. The discussion took place partly in English and partly in Ukrainian, because there were people who did not speak English. People with disabilities willingly shared with us their stories of how they lost their vision, difficulties which they have first of all in their position and how our society could help them. They also asked don’t sympathize them because the pity is the worst thing and they would like to be on an equal position with others.

I am sure these people will become a part of your activities and Ukrainian volunteers at your Center. Well done, Yulia. It is a diversity when various people turn into one community. We have seen this movie too. Sure, you're impressed. Of course, it is tume-consuming but it is worth to watch it.
