U.S. Vice- Consul Visited Lutsk Window on America Center to Discuss DiversityVisas (Green Card) and General Immigrant Visa Issues!

On June 18, 2015 the United States Vice-Consul Sergey Olhovsky visited Lutsk Window on America Center and gave a presentation on Diversity visas and general immigrant visas issues. 




During the presentation Mr. Olhovsky explained the process of applying for U.S. diversity visas,  covered the main aspects of the process and explained what one should do to ensure a fair and transparent application process. 
           


Mr. Olhovsky also discussed visa fraud issues including agencies that offeedr their help with the U.S. visa application as well as “assist” in winning the Green Card. 






At the end of the meeting the present audience asked questions about visas issues and immigrant visa application procedures and got profound answers.
            



The individual talks with Mr. Olhovsky were of great help for the visitors!

Night at Volyn Research Library 2015!

For the first time, today or more excatly at night, on June 10 th, 2015,  groups of students explored spaces in the library!

The even came to life when the door of the library wasn’t  locked at 7 p.m...
The audience enjoyed special events:

  • toured the library departments such as Window on America Room 

  • and lerned about numerous valuable resources






  • visited the departments usually not open to the public 













  • communicate
  • read poems in Ukrainian, English
  • sing songs

  • watch educational movies











We believe that such events will bring more and more people to the library interested in reading books, attending events and communicating with each other!

Spend Summer at the WOA Center in Lutsk!

Children love to learn and that love of learning doesn't stop during the summer months. Luckily, parents can send their children to the WOA Center in Lutsk to learn about the United States of America !

On June 10, 2015 a group of children in grades 2 through 7 together with English language teacher visited the Center.




During the presentation the pupils got acquainted with wonderful resources for learning useful facts about each of our 50 states, US geography, famous people, famous places, and notable history.





At the end of presentation the young visitors tried a new way in learning English language while playing different games.








The aim of the meeting was to make the process of learning more interesting, unusual and effective and to have sufficient oral practice in the use of the Language.





The audience was divided into two groups.





The visitors showed great desire to work in groups so we chose  appropriate board game to organize the process of working – Super Scrabble.

4 hours meeting was very unusual, but informative and effective. The main aim of the event – to have practice in listening, speaking and free use of language was successfully achieved.




The visitors showed great interest in such kind of work, so we welcome everyone to join our Clubs and to learn English with us!






No doubt that the WOA Center in Lutsk is an ideal place to spend summer holiday and learned about the United States of America.

Learn English at the Library.

On June 06, 2015 the Window on America Center in Lutsk hosted 2 new groups of people who are interested in English language learning for their work, study, travel or personal pleasure.


During the course of the program, the visitors were signed up for library cards, and received an orientation to the library’s services, collections and programs.

The Window on America Center staff gives all of the audience the best teaching and learning facilities we can.




Together with a group of  instructors We provide you with excellent courses in a warm, friendly and professional environment!

The Official Visit from US Embassy!

On June 4th, 2015 the Window on America Center in Lutsk met guests from the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.



The vice president of the Ukrainian Library Assosiation, the director of the Information Resource Centers – Valentina Pashkova  had a formal talk with director of the Volyn Research library, Stasiuk Liudmyla Antonovna on the subjects that had relation to the work of the Center.





It is always exciting when we have an opportunity to have informative talk about theWOA Center methods of work necessary to move forward.










Our every day visitors, mainly Svitlana Horbach and Avdeenko Tatiana, English language teachers at the University, students were proposed to listen to the presentation about USA education.





 It was led by deputy attaché of the US Embassy in Ukraine Rachel Atwood Mendiola.


During the informative presentation the main emphasis was made on the following topics:
the US system of education and the process of entering to universities and colleges in the USA,
the possibility of receiving financial aid from universities finding courses or curricula in universities and colleges in the United States of America, etc.


A frank and useful conversation with Rachel Atwood Mendiola. about the Education in the USA was of great help for the visitors!
