On March 14, 2013 8
students of English language Department from Volyn National
University had a round
table discussion “American Art”.
That lesson introduced
the students to the elements of the American arts and taught them to use
appropriate art-related vocabulary when talking and discussing paintings.
The second part of the
discussion was devoted to learning about different artists and their style of
art, mainly American impressionism, American renaissance and the modern mode.
At the end of the
meeting each student described one of the paintings. The task of the audience
was to determine the style of presented paintings and discuss the painting
using the vocabulary terms.
The lesson on America
Art gave the students a vast amount of knowledge about the United States of America
in general, helped to understand and appreciate the beauty of American culture,
history and people.
