Engaging pupils in English Language Learning!

In the frame of English Language week a group of pupils visited the Window on America Center and participated in the class.

The lesson was devoted to information about the USA, interesting facts, symbols, etc. The informative lecture was integrated into discussion followed by numerous activities and learning moments.

WOA Center for Teaching and Learning!

For teachers the English Language Week starts with Learning Strategies that help students to learn English. The Window on America presented resources can effectively engage pupils and build their skills.

The audience made their goals and objectives explicit, learnt how to assess their own learning.

 On the first day of English Language Week the Center hosted more than 30 pupils from specialized school # 5.

 The informative presentation about the USA was followed by Questions and Answers. The audience showed great interest in such kind of work and was active in discussion.

   It proved that the meeting was a success in respect of pupils’ participation and response.

Write On Took Place in Lutsk!

February 16, 2019 the Window on America Center in Lutsk hosted a yearly competition designed to encourage students to develop their critical thinking, expressive writing, and English language skills.

The event was led by American Peace Corp Volunteer from Kovel Cassidy Cramton and from Lutsk Jasan Mc Krola.

«Romantic» Lesson at the Volyn Library!

February 14, 2019 the Window on America Center in Lutsk hosted a meeting devoted to St. Valentine’s Day Celebration.

The pupils were proposed to attend the presentation about the background of the holiday, they made Valentines, talk about the customs of the holiday in the USA and the world.

The event was organized in the atmosphere of lovely communication combined with the American traditions.

Debate Competition 2019 at Volyn Research Library!

During these two days more than 50 participants took part at the event and debated on issues related to scientific issues that influenced our everyday life. Debate Competition 2019 at Volyn Research Library!
February 09- February 10, 2019 the WOA Center in Lutsk hosted the annual Debate Competion.

The Debate Competition was not only about Competition itself, but an educational extended activity that included, familiarization with scientific issues, issues of ethics, law, politics and science.
Through the Competition the participants:
• cultivated their communication skills, by analysing and composing views and arguments, conversing, disagreeing and resolving conflicts;
• cultivated their ability to effectively and creatively use the English language;
• learned to collaborate, working in groups, sharing information and ideas acquire knowledge and skills on scientific issues;

The event was of great success. It motivated the visitors to overcome stage fear and showcase their talents

Debate does not only teach a person how to win an argument, but also instructs the person for a great amount of life essential skills.

Window on America Center Welcomes Teachers” Visit!

February 06, 2019 the WOA Center in Lutsk hosted the event for English language teachers.

The audience learned about the latest collection of English learning and teaching resources.

The focus was made on the resources that help educators in becoming more familiar with modern technologies associated with teaching and learning English language:

types of learning and teaching resources

strategies for effective resources development

guidance on how resources can be effectively used.

The meeting was a great way to get lesson plan ideas, find available resources to make school fun!
