The English Language Debate Tournament was Held at Lutsk Window on America Center on December 19, 2020.

The tournament was attended by 4 teams from different cities. The game took place in two rounds during which the team discussed issues of different topics. In particular, "Roger Joseph , an American poet and writer of fantasy and science fiction short stories and novels". The tournament was very exciting, students managed to submit their own interesting views and behaved tolerantly towards other positions. The working language was English.

Volyn Resaerch Library Joining Progress Foundation and Ukrainian Library Association at "Welcome to Ukraine! Sharing Café".

On Tuesday, 8th of December, the Window on America Center joined via ZOOM "Welcome to Ukraine! Sharing Café".

It was wonderful start of the day when the participants learned about the Ukrainian context and experience, got profound information about different initiatives and partnership between libraries and CSOs.

Yaroslava Soshynska - Executive Director of Ukrainian Library Association led the meeting where library workers and representatives of public and non-governmental organizations from Central and Eastern Europe took part in the conversation.

The working language was English.

October 27, 2020 our Center hosted a meeting for teachers of English language from local and regional schools.

The audience had meeting on Zoom's video platform .

The meeting was a great opportunity:

• to share academic progress and growth;

• discuss strategies to support students learning.

The main goal of these meetings was to learn about technologies that can influence the process of education.

We emphasized research skills focusing on the use of the library's information resources - in all formats including online databases and print.

The audience was divided in two parts- face to face audience and remote participants, the last joined the meeting via Zoom platform.

 

We focused on the use of the library's information resources - in all formats including online databases and print.

 Window on America Center Kids Club in Lutsk is designed for young readers and provides classes fun-filled activities for children/ The Club members are keen to learn English and discover English through fun based activities and practise their new found skills with other children.

 A group of students from Pedagogical College visited the Volyn Research library to become the WOA Center visitors, to learn about many materials on just about every topic.

We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are adapting plans and activities accordingly. Todays statistics allowed us to meet a group of new visitors at the Center!

The main part of the meeting was devoted to online programs that help people to practice their English with native speakers.

 

 The audience explored the WOA Center resources designed to enhance knowledge of the United States of America. New arrivals were of great interest too!

The pupils learned much that one could find in the Center, its services, etc.

October 04, 2020 English Kids Club gathered young readers at the Window on America Ce4nter in Lutsk!

The audience played a lot of games such as “Magic Bottle with words”, “Name your favorite”, “Prepositions of time game”, “Hot potatoes”, learned “My town” phrases – city vocabulary and places, discussed what is situated in our town, made up different dialogues, exercises, repeated Present Continuous and played the game “What are you doing now?
