designed to enhance knowledge of the United States of America. New arrivals were of great interest too! The pupils learned much that one could find in the Center, its services, etc. The native speaker, former Peace Corp Volunteer in Lutsk, Sam Abrams returned to Lutsk and was present at the meeting. Conversation practice with our American friend made the meeting more memorable! We also emphasized research skills focusing on the use of the library's information resources - in all formats including online databases and print. The WOA Center Staff has developed presentations that showed the students how to gather resources and use digital technologies at the Center. Welcome!

On March 27, 2021 Window on America Center in Lutsk hosted a meeting with pupils of the weekly English Kids Club!

#WindowonAmericaCenter #БібліотекаОлениПчілки How to interest and motivate kids in learning English? The Window on America Center has some ideas: - we try to teach kids in a game. Because game – it is a positive emotion, and where there is a positive emotion, there is an activity, imagination and attention, which activate thinking and lift the mood; - emphasize and focus on children’s success expressing emotions and delight; - teach children be the one team; - try to maintain a comfortable psychological environment, because psychological comfort is one of the most important conditions for good learning; - try to assure kids that their possibilities are endless and just make them feel how it is wonderful to know English, speak with the foreigners and make new friends.
. We talked on a topic “Places you can visit in а town”. Many of the activities took place, the pupils were able to learn a new vocabulary, made up different dialogues, exercises, repeated Past Simple of regular and irregular verbs, played a lot of games, such as Prepositions of Place Board Game, Places in a Town Game, Hot Potatoes, Asking the Way Game, where kids using a map of a town and some useful phrases (Where is the nearest…How can I get to…Could you tell me the way) tried to identify each place in a town and give the right directions how to get there, and “Name Your Favorite” - the game where pupils had an opportunity to talk about their favorite places in a town.
