October 30, 2011 in Lutsk WOA center there was the meeting of our English Community Club. The topic of the meeting was “Halloween”. 28 people were present, 4 Americans among them. There was prepared a presentation about the main Halloween traditions. It included: What does the word “Halloween” mean, the main symbols and customs of this holiday, the history and origin of this festival. We also tried to create the atmosphere of this holiday by means of the book and article exhibition, creative pumpkins with candles and of course the Halloween costumes. We also ate the real American apple pie (one American volunteer baked it). And we continued the celebration in the central park of our town where in that time there was the “Salo Festival”. We communicated in English about Ukrainian traditional meals. The weather was perfect and our club meeting was very interesting, unusual and all the visitors were very satisfied of it.
P.s. on the photo with the ball you can see the ball which is made from the real “fat”- salo.
