The Window on America Center in Lutsk
conducted the first Easter egg master-class on April 17th. This time Center
decided to organize master-class for all interested Ukrainian and American
visitors of the Center.
Master-class
was conducted by the painter of Easter eggs with a great experience Andrij
Bondarchuk.
The lector wore national clothes and learned participants not only
beginning of Easter eggs painting but also told much about its history.
The master-class was a great experience for Americans where they could learn about Ukrainian culture and paint Easter eggs themselves. The Ukrainians were similarly interested in Easter eggs painting. Each participant of the master class could create an original krasahenka or pisanka by his own hands.

When
Andriy Bondarchuyk. told about Easter eggs’ symbols the participants began to
paint. At first they chose the figures they liked and put it on the egg with
the pencil. Then they covered the figures they wanted to stay white by wax as
it safes the color and poured eggs in the paint.
The
painting of Easter eggs took a great deal of time but all participants were
patient and carefully covered down the lines with the wax. Many participants
painted their first Easter egg that day.
For some people our master-class
became the beginning of a new great hobby and they decided to buy some
instruments and paints for this art at once.
The
master class on painting Easter eggs was a great success!
The participants went away with the
knowledge and skills to succeed at making a beautiful krasahenka or pisanka by
his own hands.
